Mode of Action

Iodine can penetrate the cell wall of micro-organisms quickly, and the lethal effects are believed to result from disruption of protein and nucleic acid structure and synthesis.

Product Properties

In vitro antimicrobial efficacy of iodophors demonstrate that iodophors are bactericidal, mycobactericidal [M. chelonae], and virucidal but can require prolonged contact times to kill certain fungi and bacterial spores.

Area of Application

  • SteriMicro- PV 5 % solution used mainly in first aid for minor cuts, grazes, burns, abrasions and blisters.

  • SteriMicro- PV 7.5 % is a broad spectrum as a surgical scrub; for pre- and post-operative skin cleansing; for the treatment and prevention of infections in wounds, ulcers, cuts and burns; for the treatment of infections in decubitus ulcers and stasis ulcers etc.

Direction For Use

  • Prepare the surgical site by washing with SteriMicro-P.V.

  • For septic surgery, first disinfect the site of the planned incision and neighboring skin area.

  • For Post operative wound treatment- After the wound has been closed and incision foil is removed- Clean the sutures and sorrounding skin area with SteriMicro- P.V.
